Who can access MCCL?

We work with youth between the ages of 12-19.

Is there a connection to schools?

MCCL requires participants to maintain attendance and be in good standing at a local junior high or high school. MCCL collaborates closely with schools, youth organizations, and arts educators. Memorandums of Understanding are in place with the Halifax Regional School Board and the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design and MCCL also works closely with the Nova Scotia Community College.

How is MCCL funded?

The centre has been funded through the generous support of the Nova Scotia government, corporate support, and private donors.

Is MCCL a register charity?

The MacPhee Centre for Creative Learning is a registered charity. Our charitable registration number is 80547 6264 RR 0001 and tax receipts are available for donors when applicable. For more information please email info@macpheecentre.ca.

Where is MCCL?

The centre is situated in the fully renovated historic Union Protection building at 50 Queen Street in downtown Dartmouth.

How many youth in Metro do not finish High School?

Almost one in six Halifax teens won’t finish high school. Many youth in Halifax are failing to fulfill their potential even before they reach adulthood. By investing in the future of our youth we can provide a sense of direction to those in need of it and build a better community as a result.

As a youth how can I get involved?

The centre is open to all youth. Give us a call at (902) 469-2851 for more information about MCCL’s programs. Additionally, check out our Facebook page and on Twitter.
