Music Milestones!
Today, we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on an outreach program that embodies the transformative power of music. Let’s celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of the youth from the YMCA Centre for Immigrant Programs!
With Jon’s encouraging and supportive facilitation, 10 youths from the YMCA took weekly guitar lessons over about three months.

During these three transformative months, the aspiring musicians embarked on a journey of self-discovery, creativity, and camaraderie. Their final performance was a masterclass in ambition and perseverance.
“It was beautiful to see the youth progress from not knowing how to play guitar to performing a song together in just 10 sessions. Many of them are now excited to continue their music-learning journey.”
To capture the essence of this extraordinary collaboration, the YMCA graciously put together a heartfelt video, showcasing the youth’s music milestones, and special feedback from the youth themselves!
As we reflect on this journey, we are filled with gratitude for the opportunity to play a part in nurturing musical talent and fostering a love for music within our community. The dedication, passion, and creativity displayed by the 10 youth at the YMCA serve as a beacon of inspiration for us all.
