Your Gift Powers Youth Potential

We need your help to provide youth with the tools and support they need to express their creativity.

At the MacPhee Centre for Creative Learning, we offer free year-round programs in creative arts for youth. We understand that environments shape behaviour and want to continue to nurture the creative discoveries of our youth. Our programs inspire confidence and create a safe space for young talents to flourish; Quality art supplies and nutritious snacks help our participants keep their creativity going.

Even this past term, we’ve seen exponential growth in our Figure Drawing program participants. Our facilitator, Diana, introduced the youth to countless different paper and pencil types, demonstrated the value of each, and let their creativity do the rest; the result were nothing short of astounding. It's through access to various art mediums and high-quality supplies that we're able to nurture the creative potential of our youth—but we can't do it alone.

Delivery of Outreach Programs to one of 25 Different Locations

Extend our reach to underserved communities by sponsoring the delivery of our outreach programs to one of 25 locations. Your donation will enable us to bring creative learning and confidence to those who need it most.

Sponsor a Summer Camp Program.

Support a week of our summer program, where youth can explore their passions, learn new skills, and make friends that will last a lifetime. These programs run in Dartmouth, Halifax, and Portapique.

Expanding Creative Learning:

The right tools can unlock potential. Your generous contributions will ensure we have a well-stocked supply of materials so we can continue to encourage young artists to explore their creativity to the fullest. By donating to MacPhee, you're not just investing in art supplies; you're investing in the growth and confidence of our students.

Some of the items our youth are interested in using include:

Studio lighting for our photography and video programs;
Quality paints and brushes for designated painting mediums;
A 3D printer and a facilitated program;
Vinyl printing programs and facilitation;
Improving the soundproofing in our “fishbowl” recording studio.

Elevating our Snack Program:

A well-rounded arts education should include food for the body as well as the mind. At the MacPhee Centre, our mission extends to providing snacks and meals during our after-school programs. Your support will help us fill our cupboards with kitchen supplies to continue serving good food to those who need it most.

Some of our favourite snacks include:

MacPhee chocolate chip cookies are always a big hit. We pair them with fresh fruit and vegetables!
Fruit Smoothies are a new favourite. They are a huge energy boost during our active dance and musical theatre programs!
Recently, when we brought out our Cheese Scones, one youth loudly stated that they’d been “waiting for this snack all term!”
