Secretary she/her Workers’ Compensation Board of NS

Sarah recently retired as a Corporal of the BC RCMP. She was a subject matter expert in child interviewing and her specialty was in investigating child abuse. In 2018, she received an Officer in Charge Commendation for “Outstanding Service Responding to a Child In Danger” and in 2019, was nominated for Police Officer of The Year by the Surrey RCMP. She has presented publicly on Adverse Childhood Experiences and am very passionate about this topic – particularly, the significant impact one’s early experiences can have later in life and what can be done to offset those risk factors. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Dalhousie University and most recently, completed the Child Soldiers and At Risk Youth Course through the Romeo Dallaire Child Soldiers Initiative.
When it comes to being creative, Sarah enjoys playing the piano, painting and making jewelry. She enjoys music and believes art is the most beautiful form of expression. Whether it’s cycling, surfing or travelling, Sarah loves to be outdoors and enjoys travelling to those hidden gem locations across the globe.
