Gender & Sexuality Alliance (GSA)
Gender and Sexuality Alliances (GSAs) are youth-led spaces that support 2SLGBTQ+ youth and their allies in organizing around issues that impact their lives and communities. GSAs help make communities safer by providing a space free of judgment and assumptions. The MacPhee Centre has been offering GSA programming since January 2017 and has expanded the program to three unique GSA communities. All MacPhee GSAs lean into opportunities for social engagement, community building, education, and support/advocacy.
These programs run year-round, outside of program terms. Check out the program schedule to confirm the times and receive a link if you’re joining in with the Virtual GSA!

The Facilitators
Curious about who might be leading one of these programs? These are some of the folks who have facilitated programs with these organizations in the past.
Gender & Sexuality Alliance
A space open for youth 12-19 of all sexualities and genders to come together to share stories about their lives and learn how to make life better for 2SLGBTQ+ people everywhere.
16+ Gender & Sexuality Alliance
A space reserved for youth 16+ to come together for Sunday evening family dinner. Focused on dialogue and exploration of issues pertinent to the lives of youth over 16, this space supports youth of all genders and sexualities as they come together in community.
Virtual Gender & Sexuality Alliance
After providing a GSA to the local Dartmouth community for a number of years, we are now able to offer a virtual GSA space for 2SLGBTQ+ youth from across the province. To access the link, email courtney@macpheecentre.ca
