Situated in the fully renovated historic Fire Union Protection building at 50 Queen Street in downtown Dartmouth, the centre features 20-foot ceilings, exposed beams, original plank floors, and plenty of natural light.  Everything at the MacPhee Centre, from the instruction we deliver to the art that adorns the walls, has been designed with direct input from the young people who use the centre.

Our facility is available for rent for community and organizations. It has been used in the past for training sessions, networking events, community gatherings, art and music shows and yoga sessions. We offer a flexible arrangement of chairs and tables. We also have a residential style kitchen available.

  • We offer various rates for non-profit/ community groups, government, and discounts for Black, Indigenous, and organizations run by people of colour.
  • Capacity according to our fire code is 50 people total; 25 people per floor.
  • We take rental requests outside of our programming hours.

For more information about rates and availability please email rentals@macpheecentre.ca or call (902) 469-2851.

Youth typically come to the MacPhee Centre if they are looking for free, creative programming, a space to make friends, have a bite to eat, and be themselves. As a community hub, we provide a variety of programming year-round, and we host workshops, meetings, and even art shows from time to time!

On a tour, one of our program managers will show you everything our building has to offer, from our main floor creative spaces, our supplies room, our garden, and more! You'll get inside information about the programs, have time to ask your questions, and meet the core staff around the building. A tour is the perfect low pressure introduction to the MacPhee Centre.

If you or someone you know would like to stop by to visit the space, arrange a tour, or if you have any questions, feel free to send us an email at info@macpheecentre.ca or call us at 902-469-2851 and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
