Holiday Makers Market

Holiday Winter Market (Presentation (43))

On Friday, December 12, we hosted our first-ever Holiday Maker’s Market - a celebration of youth creativity, entrepreneurship, and community connection. This event grew out of our programs that provide youth with pathways to employment through the arts and art-based education, giving them the tools to create, sell, and share their work with pride.

Five talented youth vendors showcased a range of products, including fine arts paintings (complete with easels and cat stickers), custom hand-painted ornaments (including a one-of-a-kind MacPhee ornament), prints of watercolour paintings, limited edition zines, handmade scrunchies and felted garlands. Our friends from Phoenix Youth and Community Centre joined us, and provided free rice krispiesquares, cookies, and hot chocolate for visitors, while attendees supported not only the youth vendors but also our bake sale, youth-made prints, and holiday cards.

Their professionalism, creativity, and energy brought the market to life and highlighted the impact of giving youth space and support to lead their own projects. The event was a reminder of how much can be achieved when youth, community, and our centre come together.

We are so grateful to everyone who attended, purchased, and cheered on our youth. Your support allows us to continue providing these meaningful opportunities that empower young people and strengthen our community, and we can’t wait to do it again next year!

You can still support our youth year-round.
