Emilie grew up in France, where she studied performing arts at the University of Strasbourg and obtained a Master’s degree in arts – Artistic and Cultural Project Management.

“Performing and visual arts have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, but they were considered a hobby and nothing else. I barely made it through high school because I felt disconnected from the program and couldn’t wait to see what came next. As I entered university to study dance, my whole world suddenly became much bigger, brighter, and full of possibilities. Since then, I have regained the taste for learning new things, connecting with diverse people, and expressing my creativity.”

After graduating from university, Emilie decided to travel to Canada and discover the big land where she dropped her anchor on an island called Newfoundland, falling in love with its nature and its people.  For more than 10 years, Emilie has put her passion for art and culture at the service of the community by working for various non-profit organizations.

As a people person, Emilie believes that everyone should have the support they need to thrive and become who they are meant to be. She hopes that her work at the MacPhee Center will allow youth participating in the programs to spread their wings feeling safe and respected and help strengthen partnerships and relationships to build a cohesive community of support.

“In everyone, there is a light, a dream waiting to be released. While some can achieve this on their own, others may need an extra hand to get there. I will gladly be one of the helping hands.”
