Jordan Williams-Joseph (He/Him)
Program Manager
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Jordan grew up loving music, art, and drawing Anime. From childhood he knew his future would involve some sort of creating and making. At 13 he discovered the world of beat-making and instantly fell in love with the art. Then by 15 Jordan set up an online store and sold his beats to artists all over the world. After high school he deepened his learning through the Recording Arts program at NSCC, and for the past 10+ years Jordan has been working in music production and audio engineering with some of Halifax’s most talented artists.
In 2013 Jordan joined iMOVe’s Centreline Studio in Halifax’s North End as the volunteer Audio Engineer and Youth Mentor. He discovered a passion for introducing the art of quality music creation to youth who would have never otherwise experienced it. Watching some of the youth grow into talented musicians themselves has given him a profound sense of joy and purpose while also validating his belief that many youth are born artists but need help discovering their potential.
Quality art-making should be something that all youth have access to in order to learn who they are and where they best in our world.
At the MacPhee team, Jordan strives to enable as many young people as possible to experience the liberating power of artistic expression through all mediums, and especially music and audio creation.
