Summit to Shore Human Centred Leadership Advisory

Mark is a psychological health and safety leader based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with more than 35 years of experience across Canada in disability management, workers’ compensation, and workplace mental health. His career began in rehabilitation nursing and included leadership roles in disability and health at Manulife and Sun Life before he served as Vice President, Psychological Injury & Continuous Improvement at WCB Nova Scotia. There, he led the development of the province’s Psychological Injury Practice Model and its evidence-based, trauma-informed treatment standards.

Today, through Summit to Shore Human Centred Leadership Advisory, he helps leaders embed psychological health and safety into organizational practices, drawing on CSA Z1003, the National Standard of Canada.

As an out member of the 2SLGBTQI+ community, Mark draws on his lived experience to foster inclusion and value diverse experiences in the teams and organizations he works with. He serves on the board of the MacPhee Centre for Creative Learning as Chair of the Governance & Nominating Committee and volunteers with Souls Harbour Rescue Mission. His past service includes membership on a board advisory committee for Unsinkable and volunteering with Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids.
